Hello Dear Friends,
We approach a portal in time when one year ends and another begins. During this holiday season, humans are given by nature to ponder both joy and sadness. These emotions are entwined with family, friends, soulmates—even our cherished animals. And memories of people, places, and things that unfurl in our hearts and minds as we recognize that our past will never return, nor will our lives be quite the same. And so it is, in the often bittersweetness of this season, that we embrace gladness in connecting with people we love yet feel sorrow over what is lost or absent from our lives.
Some people look forward to new beginnings in 2024, while others have foreboding about potential outcomes in this volatile world and our soul-weary nation. I wanted to write an inspirational message for the Christmas and Hannukah celebrations, but to do so, I would knowingly gloss over the weightiness of the state of our country and the world.
The Prophecy
A recent dream, however, provided one view of a worldly realm at which we flinch and another of hope where the still small voice at the center of all existence says: something sacred awaits, and it will come. That Prophetic Dream woke me at 2 a.m. I remembered every word and the timbre of the voice—potent yet calm, wrapped in a kind compassion. I stayed awake writing, placing each word on the page like fragile crystal fragments.
Everything in this world will be forgotten and reduced to ash and cinders. People. Ideologies. Powerful nations. Monuments of stone, glass, and steel, and monuments of nature. All will wash away. Our ashen idols, granite hearts, and faithless ways will perish, for our world sows only barren seeds of greed, power, violence, and unbelief in nothing more significant than the Almighty Self.
But Divinity lives at the heart of our Multiverse, and it is Divinity from which everything was conceived—and is not yet conceived. Divinty is the LOVE that spoke LIGHT into the cosmos. Dark, evil things cannot survive in the LIGHT of the incomprehensible LOVE of the Divine. All good things will be sustained in a Sacred Place beyond the eroding edges of this dark world spiraling into dust and cinder with lamenting withered souls in the chaff.
There is assuredly Truth and Hope, for it was spoken and written that “it will be done on Earth…”
As the seas tremble and the mountains move and the earth rumbles, all nations’ peoples will raise their palms towards one-hundred billion gallaxies and shout holy hosannahs. Clear waters, pregnant with HOPE, will flow as Divinity kisses its people and the land with luxurious LOVE and eternal LIGHT where no evil will cast even a shadow on the New Jerusalem, a New World.

I wondered why this Prophetic Dream came to me with such clarity. I saw ash and cinders, fallen monuments, and the New Jerusalem. Let us hope and pray, each in our own way, that the promise of a New World is the destiny of humankind and our planet. (I had not read the Book of Revelation in the Bible. I did so after the dream.)
A Fond Farewell
As I reflect upon my life at the age of eighty, the realization dawns that it’s time to say farewell to Reflections. Like a mother bear entering a period of hibernation, I, too, must step back—not into slumber but into a space where I can tend to matters as dear to me as tiny bear cubs nestled close to a mother’s heart. A new creative endeavor has been embarked upon, free from the constraints of pressure and deadlines. First and foremost, I want to dedicate more time to my relationship with God. Following that, I work towards giving more of myself to friends, neighbors, and those in need, listening deeply to what their hearts want to say.
I wish each of you a splendid holiday season and a New Year filled with health and peace. May all of our thoughts, words, and deeds be adorned with love and kindness, always striving to do no harm.
To those who have graciously invested their time, even years, with my musings and images, it has been a source of great joy to share my work with you.
With enduring love and gratitude, I say ….

☮️ & 💟
Thank you, Susan. This is bittersweet for me, but as one reader of many years said, I won't be able to help myself and return with periodic musings and images. Onward!
