A particularly wonderful posting, LeeAnne! Ever since we met many moons ago (you were packing up your house and studio to “downsize”) I’ve been impressed by the strength of your “serenity compasss”. I’ve been on your mailing list nearly that long and have always been warmed by your words and visuals. The essay about coming to NYC to pursue a career in dance still ranks as one of my favorite autobiographical stories evah! ( and, modesty aside, is deserving of a reprise imho. Please? I hope to be back in your neighborhood by Solstice or sooner- I’ve been “ stuck “ in CA since 2015 - (a story much better told in person , Jah willing !). Sure do miss the magnificent Hudson Valley and my dear friends there. In closing, I’ll offer the magical words from John and Yoko, “war is over, IF you want it “.
I am sorry to hear all of this. You will heal and I've learned that these times of challenge and pain are the best to do that inner work and give gratitude that you are alive. But your guitar and walking will come back to you, and what joy awaits. 🩵
I am searching out "The Audition" and the pictures among my archives, which I believe I have in a portfolio. It came to me just moments ago that I may have titled the piece "Jackie & June." Imay do it in 2 or 3 parts for it was very long. I would love to repurpose it with more wisdom looking now even further than I did when I first published it. 💃🏻
