I remember reading this story and it still grieves me about Lily. I also am afraid for American Democracy. I am particularly concerned what the world will be like as my children grew older. I will never understand how any group of people who call themselves religious can support such an evil person as trump. All of them seem to care only about a fetus but once the baby is born, nothing. Now with an Alabama judge claiming in vitro cells are a "person", the lunacy is expanding. Soon you will see them going after all birth control.
Thank you, Steve, for your important comment on children. I admit to having a winding, exploratory spiritual path. But faith, no matter what one follows, is essential, especially in today's world. I appreciate your commenting on the effect of how religion or extremism, or for me, Catholicism (everything was still in Latin with mean nuns) drove me away for years without any faith in anything but "me." It was not a good path. How do we help? (Rhetorical.)
